The Kooks - Target Audience

A target audience is a specific group of people within a target market. A target audience can be people of a certain age group, gender, marital status. In this case it is gender and age. A certain combination, like men from twenty to thirty is often a target audience. Other groups, although not the main focus may also be interested. For a music company, discovering the target market is espcially important, this is because they will have to decide what channels to put the music on, what time to put the music etc.

The Kooks target audience is 16-30. This is because I feel that they relate to a wide range of people. The Kooks are more targeted at Indie consumers of both sexes.
Due to The Kooks being aware of their target audience they will have the knowledge of where to advertise their music, what channels to have their music on and what festivals to play at, etc.
