In todays media we watched a clip from The Gadget Show where Suzi and Jason had a task to go head to head on directing a music video; Suzi had an unlimited budget and Jason had to keep to a small budget. Jason was given the challenge of making a music video for Har Mar Superstar and Suzi had the well known band Fightstar.
From the show I learn't that you don't need to have a huge budget to be able to make a good music video. I found that the low budget seems to have more character to the video.
There are three different types of styles that Suzi and Jason could choose from, they were;
- Performance - Where you have the band playing and all the filming is based on them. (Suzy chose this style)
- Story - Where you can have some filming that has no relevence to the music at all, or you can have something that tells the story of the song. (Jason chose this style)
- Gimmick - This where the video is wacky and unusual and has no relevance to the music. An example of this is OK Go's videos.
In the end Suzi won with the unlimited budget video.
